Audio Menace’s initiation into the world of dance music was nothing short of a seismic revelation. At the age of 18, he was lured to a local dance music night called Skankadelic by friends. From the moment he stepped into the venue and felt the thunderous bass reverberate through his chest, his life was forever changed. For the next five years, Skankadelic became his haven, featuring mind-blowing live acts and underground maestros that left an indelible mark.
Gatecrasher and Crazy Daisies also became pivotal in shaping his musical journey, exposing him to the prowess of trance legends like Guy Ornadel, John Kelly, Lisa Lashes, and Fergie. The rave scene beckoned in 2002, where Audio Menace was captivated by the Hardcore Techno rooms and the dynamic performances of Sharkey, Energy, Mark EG, and M-Zone in the Hard Trance rooms.
In the early 2000s, Audio Menace took the plunge into DJing, initially organizing renegade raves in village halls. After unexpected crowds turned these events into a sensation, he stepped up, booking big-name DJs like DJ Sy and Joey Riot for proper venues. The Energycore nights were a hardcore and freeform spectacle, showcasing Audio Menace’s versatility in spinning early Hardstyle records at Freeform speed.
However, his heart has always belonged to Hard Trance, Acid Trance, and NRG. From the underground vibes of Telica and Acid Test Pressings to the energy-packed sounds of Wicked! and Spinball, his favorite labels reflect his diverse taste. With Hypnotic Pulse, expect an eclectic mix of underground Acid Trance, Hard Trance, and NRG, with occasional surprises – all skillfully mixed on vinyl!
