Cherish’s love affair with dance music began at the Trance haven, Verwood Manor, Dorset, in the late ’90s. It was there that the enchanting melodies of trance captured her heart, setting the stage for a musical journey that would define her life.
Her roots truly sank into the scene when a dear friend introduced her to the iconic nightclub, The Country Club, in 1998. These legendary trance and hard trance nights left an indelible mark on her musical soul. Fast forward to today, Cherish proudly carried the torch as the Promoter/Guardian of The Country Club – The Legend Lives On, an event that rocked the dance floor and also raised significant funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of the beloved Clive Miles, affectionately known as The Dance Daddy and owner of The Country Club.
Cherish’s dance pilgrimage took her through the hallowed halls of Bagleys, Turnmills, Gods Kitchen, The Monastery, The Dance Academy, Ministry of Sound, Cream, and the mystical isle of Ibiza. From the euphoria of Manumission to the ethereal vibes of Privilege, Space, and Pacha – the list goes on, creating one very long treasure trove of musical memories.
Beyond her role as a DJ and Safehouse Radio owner, Cherish is a connoisseur of good music across many genres. Learning the craft on vinyl, which she prefers due to it’s tactile nature, she also uses a DVS enabled controller which allows her to play tunes unreleased on vinyl.
With no desire for the DJ spotlight her mantra in life is simple but profound – Stay happy, stay healthy and always with good music!
If you’re lucky you’ll catch Cherish providing the occasional guest mixes for Safehouse and other radio stations when she has time. However, her full time self employment means she’s normally working when most are having fun!
If music has depth, if has soul, if it touches something inside her, Cherish will spin it, ensuring that the beats never stop and the smiles keep coming!
